How It All Started

In 2020, my family was in the process of buying a home — an exciting but nerve-wracking experience. When we reached the home inspection, I found myself watching the inspector closely, fascinated by how he examined every part of the house.

A few days later, curiosity turned into action. I started researching what it takes to become a home inspector, and just weeks after my family’s inspection, I enrolled in the Inspection Certification Associates (ICA) training program. Balancing coursework, a full-time job, and life as a new dad wasn’t easy — but the passion pushed me through.

Once certified, I joined InterNACHI, the world’s leading inspection association, to keep expanding my knowledge. But I didn’t stop there — I wanted real-world experience. I reached out to every local inspector I could find, hoping for a chance to shadow and learn hands-on. Most never replied, and a few even turned me down.

Just when I was about to give up, I reached out to the very inspector who had inspired me in the first place — the one who inspected my family’s home. To my surprise, he responded immediately, encouraged my journey, and invited me to join him on a few inspections. I learned quickly, worked hard, and before long, he offered me a part-time position.

Throughout 2021, I gained invaluable experience inspecting homes alongside him. Seeing how much peace of mind a good inspection brings to families made me realize — this is what I want to do full time. That’s when Westside Property Inspections was born.
